Rules and Regulations for Applying P.G 2015-17



60% of the total seats will be reserved for home University and 40% of the total seats shall be kept open for other Universities including home University (vide order no. VC/Regr/GO/SC DP/2014 dated 19.02.2014West Bengal State Council of Higher Education).

Reservation procedure must be followed in case of 60% as well as 40% students separately. The Reservation system is 22% for SC students, 6% for ST students and 3% for Physically Challenged Students from each category. Besides this as per order no. 365-Edn(CS)/OM-9L/2015dated 21/04/2015 of Higher Education Department(University Branch), Govt. of West Bengal, OBC reservation policy will be followed within 6 years on the basis of availability of infrastructure.  The percentage reserved for Physically Challenged candidates can be converted into general candidates in the absence of Physically Challenged candidates.

In case of break of studies (maximum permissible upto 3 years) of the applicant, 2% from aggregate marks in Honours subject(s) will be deducted. The maximum permissible year is 2012.

No “Part Not Cleared” (PNC) candidate shall be considered for admission.

Application fees for Online PG Admission is Rs.150/- for SC / ST candidates on production of original relevant document at the bank and Rs.300/- for all other categories. Admission fees for subjects in Group-A is Rs.5750/- for all category applicants and for subjects in Group-B is Rs.7050/- for all category applicants.

ALL FOREIGN NATIONALS DESIROUS OF TAKING ADMISSION TO WBSU SHOULD CONTACT THE REGISTRAR,WEST BENGAL STATE UNIVERSITY, BERUNANPUKURIA,P.O.-MALIKAPUR,P.S.-
DUTTAPUKUR, BARASAT, NORTH 24 PGS, KOLKATA-700126 BETWEEN 12NOON TO 4:30PM ON ANY     WORKING DAYS BEFORE THE CLOSING OF ONLINE ADMISSION PROCESS.

For Foreign Nationals all type of fees would be five times that of Indian nationals.

For Indian Nationals self attested copies of Mark sheet & Certificate of Madhyamik (or equivalent), Mark sheet & Certificate of Higher Secondary (or equivalent) and Mark sheets of Graduation [Part (I+II+III) or equivalent] are to be submitted at the time of verifications at the university campus . SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/Physically Challenged applicants will have to submit self-attested copies of SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/Physically Challenged Certificates at the time of verifications along with the above-mentioned self-attested copies of Mark sheets and certificates. All provisionally admitted students are to bring all their original testimonials during the verification process at the University.

The candidates (Indian Nationals) will have to show ‘original copy’ of Mark sheet & Certificate of Madhyamik (or equivalent), ‘original copy’ of Mark sheet & Certificate of Higher Secondary (or equivalent) and original mark sheets of Graduation [Parts (I+II+III) or equivalent] at the time of verification. The SC/ST /OBC-A/OBC-B and Physically Challenged candidates, apart from the original mark sheets and certificates, will have to show original copies of SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/Physically Challenged certificates at the time of admission & verification. THIS IS TO BE TREATED AS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, OTHERWISE ADMISSION TO PG COURSES WILL BE CANCELLED.

Foreign Nationals will have to pay similar type of fee-both Group-A and Group-B (five times higher than that of Indian nationals) at the timeadmission & verification at the University during office hours.

The applicants while calculating aggregate marks/percentage for H.S/class XII should take into account one language subject i.e. ENGLISH (100 marks) and best three from the rest subjects.

Merit List will be generated on the basis of marks obtained in the Honours paper in Graduation level. In case of tie at Graduation level, pass/general papers will be taken into account to decide the merit. Again in case of tie, the above said best of four marks in H.S/class XII level will be considered to decide the merit. Applicant should fill the marks obtained in Honours & General papers separately.

In case an applicant fails to confirm the payment details in the online system, the Confirmation from the Bank will be treated as final and binding.

In case of grading system at any level of studies completed, the applicants are to convert the grade into equivalent percentage as per the conversion formula of the relevant exam passed. However if it doesn’t exist, the equivalent percentage may be arrived by converting the CGPA to percentage (example: if CGPA is on 10.00 scale and CGPA obtained 6.7 then the equivalent percentage will be 67% out of 100%)

All Admissions are provisional till Registration. If any discrepancy is detected in the documents/credentials and information provided by applicant, during the verification stage or at any later stage, the admission of the applicant will be cancelled and the deposited fees will not be refunded under any circumstances. Hence, applicants are to be cautious while filling the form.

Rules:

1. Back3 years will be allowed i.e. Candidates whose graduation year is between 2012 to 2015 are eligible for applications.

2. 2% form graduation marks will redacted for back year candidates.

3. Feck board list attached. Candidates will pasted those boardsnot eligible for application.
